This patient came to see Dr. Plant to correct her breast implants after having 4 attempts with different surgeons. She had a painful capsular contracture on the left side and a folded implant on the right. Dr. Plant corrected her implants by removing her existing ones and the capsules, putting new implants in and securing them with an AlloDerm™ “internal bra” to prevent further capsular contracture and keep them perky longer.

Why did you choose to have surgery?

I needed to have a breast revision surgery from prior breast augmentations that had gone wrong in 2012. I had three breast augmentations, changed doctors for a fourth revision from which I got an infection, a capsular contracture on the left side and a folded right implant. After my last revision I was told that there was a big possibility I would have to remove my implants and so it was best to just leave them.

I love my boobs and everyone says that they look amazing. There’s no discomfort, I have no complaints, everything feels amazing and they suit my frame perfectly!

What surprised you the most about your experiences?

I was surprised by how caring Dr. Plant was. I thought I was bothering him because of how much I was calling during my recovery. Him and his staff were always very attentive and never made me feel welcomed to call or ask for advice.

How would you describe your recovery?

My body was sensitive because I had already had so many revisions. It was a difficult process, in the beginning I seemed to be rejecting the implants. I went in to see Dr. Plant and he gave me some advice and medication to help my body heal. I was patient with the process, it took about 6 weeks for me to feel completely back to normal. But my breasts looked great right off the bat and I have had absolutely no issues since!

Other than the obvious (an augmentation without discomfort), what has changed most since surgery?

Everything is positive, I’m really gratified. My confidence is better, I’m happy and my breasts don’t feel foreign at all, they feel like they’re a part of my body. I feel completely healthy and I have absolutely no discomfort at all!
